Wow, I just realized you don't need to be frequent in an action to enjoy the benefits of the experience. Granted, if you want to be a good pianist, practicing regularly and consistently will certainly contribute to that goal and of course is necessary. I am not speaking that type of commitment. I am referring to opening up your experiences for life. I jog every now and then; when I feel like it. It's ok. I go to the gym and use weights when I feel like it and it's ok too. I even play the piano with my limited skill set and love the experience very much and that's ok too. Dance is no different. Dance whenever you get the feeling. Its a click away; music and we dance.
Every Saturday at my Rungo Dance Fit I see magic happening. The students copy my flailing arms, my pointy toes and my vigorous hips, they trust that it will lead them to the dance experience of joy....and it does. There is no better reward than to see that on the faces of my students, all levels and all styles.
Next time you beat yourself up for not 'being consistent' remember that the experience is where the magic lies.....perfection is overrated. Production will give you the joy!!
