A bad situation will always have good; no matter what, it is the law. Perhaps this "bad year" that has caused so much distress, heartache, uncertainty, anxiety and a myriad of other adjectives has a silver lining? Like how many hours have you spent with your loved one? Have you grown to appreciate them with greater intensity? Or possibly the opposite happened and you have been able to re assess you, your needs and your primary focus? How have you enhanced the life of another through this difficult time? How many walks in the park have you taken? I have been able to "smell the roses" and really appreciate nature. Maybe you practiced a skill more and more such as cooking, or practicing your instrument, a hobby, caught up on Netflix or crosswords, or you learned a new technical skill -like navigating Zoom meetings. Possibly these lessons do not come as easily as we'd like and "BAM" a forced pandemic thrusts us forward into places of malaise only to bring us more awareness of health, social injustices, personal bouts and struggles, the exclusive importance human connections and self actualization. We have been forced into realizing "WE ARE ALL THE SAME" WE need love, water, food, security and joy, just to name a few.''
I have experienced all of the above. I have realized how helpful a simple smile can really be, and smiling with the eyes in no easy endeavor. I have realized how fearful people really are and that those of us who live in faith, as opposed to fear, can really help bring peace to the other side. I have embraced my dear relationships and forgotten the ones that really never mattered in the first place. I sit and ponder and I think "how can I make life better for more and more people"? I am lucky to be a dance teacher. I am so very grateful for this career choice, it is full of so many wonderful things. Movement and music are huge, and all kinds of music, all kinds of movement. Eye contact and closeness, are so important. The simple touch of another can be magical. The focused energy of a simple dance together can catapult you into believing in your dreams......The end of the bad time is coming and so are brighter days. Days that we can use our lessons to make our environment better and that of others. Have faith, dance, listen to music, sing out loud, smell the roses, breathe and smile..... and remember you, too, can change the world one step at a time.
